Procedure of egg donation

Procedure of egg donation

Postby Katy132 on 23 Oct 2015, 12:08

The procedure of egg donation is similar to standard IVF treatment. If you don’t know about such treatment, you can search in the Net – there is much information about it. Anyway, specialists in BioTexCom will explain you everything. So, after a thorough examination, you will probably need the course of hormone treatments to prepare you for the egg. If you have functioning ovaries, you’ll need estrogen and progesterone treatments. It will make your cycle coincide precisely with the donor’s.

I have been unsuccessful for so long in my trying to get pregnant. And I am thinking about making the decision to go to a donor egg. Sometimes I think that it is my last chance to have a child. I am not sure that I can afford it. But now I am investigating. And I have a question for those, who had already used a donor egg. Did you tell people, that it was not your egg? Did many of you have problems getting pregnant with donor eggs?

Egg donation typically involves in vitro fertilization technology, with the eggs being fertilized in the laboratory. More rarely, unfertilized eggs may be frozen and stored for later use. Egg donation is a third party reproduction as part of assisted reproductive technology (ART)

Hi! I couldn’t conceive and used a donor egg. Currently I’m 18 weeks pregnant. Firstly we thought about adoption. But then we learnt about egg donation treatment. Now I can tell that everything is quite good))))

The procedure of egg donation is almost the same as a simple IVF. The main difference is that embies that will be put back in are made not of your fertilized eggs but donor's. That's why you don't need to undergo stimulation of follicles like when you are going through IVF with your eggs. However, you need to take hormones to have a thick enough womb lining. So you need to take estrogen medicines for improving your lining. If it's at least 8mm, you can move on to embryo transfer. And that's it.
